La Vinateria Del Call | Barcelona
September 24, 2009
You may want to consult your phone GPS before you try to find this La Vinateria Del Call, since it’s hidden away down a few narrow, winding cobblestone alleyways in the Barri Gotic. Like most places in Barcelona, don’t go too early unless you like drinking wine in an empty bar with a few other tourists. But do go. This is a great, rustic, cave-like wine bar that is worth stopping in for some seitons a l’oli (anchovies in oil), cured meats, Spanish cheeses, and a glass of Rioja.
Owner Miguel Antolin Garcia is often behind the bar and great to chat with. He’s friendly, charming, and passionate about his wine. Luckily, this is still hovering on the less known side of the tourist radar, so you can still experience a local vibe.
