Uchiko & East Side King - Austin, TX
Chef Paul Qui has experienced a banner year. The executive chef of the highly-regarded Austin restaurant Uchiko and owner of East Side King, his trio of food trailers, won $125,000 by beating out his tough “cheftestant” competitors on Bravo’s Top Chef: Texas TV show.
This past Monday, chef Qui won the James Beard Foundation Award for Best Chef: Southwest, a year after his mentor and boss, chef Tyson Cole won the same honor.
We asked chef Qui to disclose his favorite Austin F.E.D. (finds, eats and drinking) spots.
