This recipe is named after our most esteemed regular, John Daly (no, not the alcoholic golfer, but thank you).
John Daly lives across the street from Fedora and probably comes in for dinner three times a week. He's awesome and he made me a mix-tape with some killer Ryan Adams music. John loves cocktails, so it's inspiring to get the opportunity to create something new for him since, (a) he likes bourbon and Manhattans, and (b) he just got a yellow lab puppy, named Rye.
John doesn't like sweet cocktails, even though there's some Cherry Heering, I thought if we added some citrus/coffee bitters, not only would that cut some of that sweetness, it would certainly add some texture to that autumnal flavor. People who enjoy Old Fashions, Manhattans and Negronis, would be big fans of the Daly Boulevard.
Since this is basically a riff on a Negroni, I took the ingredients in a subtle alternate route.
